What does it take to set a world record on an electric motorcycle? That depends how you define the record — so we went after the ones that are hard to argue with: distance, on real roads, self-supported.

We partnered with endurance riders Wendy Crockett and Ian McPhee, whose own self-supported team ride passed 89,000 miles on gasoline. The goal was to beat that standard on electric — not on a closed course, but out where the weather, the charging and the fatigue all count.

It is one thing to put together an electric motorcycle. It is another thing entirely to have it stay together at hour eleven, in the rain, four hundred miles from the shop. Everything we learn out there goes back into the systems we sell.
